INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACCEPTANCE - January 20, 2012
To achieve social acceptance of disability.
To honor the late Annie Hopkins, founder of 3E Love and creator of the International Symbol of Acceptance.

3E Love is a social entrepreneurial awareness experiment.

Promote January 20th!

What is acceptance?
Acceptance is an Empowered movement that Educates others to Embrace diversity and Love life by seeing beyond abilities.

Friends, tell the world you embrace who you are; a person with social rights, who has an opinion, who has interests, who has goals and who loves life; a person who is empowered to make a difference in the world and not be without a voice in society. You are not living disabled, you are living.

To our supporters, join us in telling the world that you are accepting of people with disabilities. As our parents, siblings, relatives, spouses, children, lovers, coworkers, teachers, personal assistants, friends, and anyone else - you also have a role in our culture and life. And you can have an impact on the future if you demonstrate your acceptance to others.

Let's join together to:
Embrace diversity. Educate your community. Empower each other. Love life.

Start the conversation of acceptance TODAY!

Help promote social acceptance of disability today on January 20th:

  • Forward this e-mail to your friends, family, and professional networks.
  • Share the message on Facebook. Change your profile pic for just 1 day!
  • Tweet about it! #dayofacceptance
  • Wear your heart on your sleeve or draw it on your hand!

When a person asks about the symbol, "What's that mean?" Well now it's your turn to tell them your story!

And maybe next time they will look at the traditional symbol a little differently.

I’ve worked with special needs people since 2003. I love my work and will continue pursuing this field of work. I love their genuineness, their ability to find ways to communicate without talking and to still laugh even though you might have just told them a sad thing. They make me smile and laugh.

So grateful to 3E for not only creating such wonderful products but for setting aside a whole day to celebrate all the beautiful souls with varying abilities. Today and every day, I honor my 3 year old daughter, Tilly – born with Joubert Syndrome, and all our friends who face challenges head on. Happy Day of Acceptance!!!

In my 40 years on this earth, I can not tell you how much has changed as far as how to be able to connect with other individuals w/ disabilities such as myself. that is in part… thanks to my wonderful uncle-dad, who if not for him, my world would not have been able to be opened up! or expanded.being able to share my thoughts and feelings by technology… it is websites like this that keep on giving me hope that as long as I am able to express myself to others… I am already opening the eyes and minds of how important it is to accept people with disabilities!

“Pay it forward” everyone! My best friend celebrates each new day with hope and laughter. She has MS, a full time job, a beautiful home and a loving family. She gives her joy and unending smile to everyone she meets. She raises my spirits on a daily basis. She shares here life and love unconditionally. What disability?

Well, i have never heardof this great idea, until i saw it in my friend facebook status…
I felt something to prove,to my society in kenya, whom have little time for disabled, less concern,or even simply looking at us as beggars. We have been associated with pity and other stereotype.
I have for a longtime to lobby, our ability beyond disability, but resources hold my hand!
I would have felt good, if it possible! To get any kind of this syboms,be it tshirt etc
to start mission of that worthy we are beside disability.

Meeting Stevie Hopkins changed my life and my thinking about individuals with disabilities. He has made me think a lot about the social model of disability. I learned how important it is to accept all persons as equal no matter what their differences and see their strengths and abilities.
